The court of Fier has sentenced three people from the village of Cakran to 20 years in prison, after the police discovered and seized 34 compressed packages of cannabis and 500 grams of cocaine in the apartment of two of them.
The narcotics were seized in a "Volvo" type vehicle and for this event in September 2023 in Cakran, Panajot Shahaj and Osmën Mehmetaj were arrested, while his son, Eduart Mehmetaj, the organizer of this criminal activity, was declared wanted, not being found still arrested today by the police.
The three detainees were accused by the prosecution of "Production and sale of narcotics" and "Holding, production and transportation of chemical substances".
The journalist of "Ora News", Elton Qyno, has learned that for Eduart Mehmetaj, the court of Fier decided to sentence him to 8 years of imprisonment, while for his father Osmë Mehmetaj and their neighbor Panajot Shehaj, the court decided to sentence each of them to 6 years of imprisonment. .
Meanwhile, the man who helped the police to identify the drug owner in record time, Eduart Mehmetaj, is his wife, Elsa Mehmetaj.
The woman stated to the police that the "Volvo" type vehicle where the quantity of narcotics was found is registered in the name of her husband, Eduart, but he did not buy it himself. According to her, the car was bought by his friends, for whom he does not know their names and where they are from.
"...the vehicle has been parked for about two months and has not moved since the day it was parked. Regarding the pressing machine, I don't know whose it is, but Eduard brought it home with his "Audi" type vehicle, about two months ago..." Elsa Mehmetaj declared to the police.
According to her, with the machine for pressing packages with narcotics, Eduarti packed them on September 7, 2023, together with Asqeri Shahaj, who is a resident of the neighborhood where they live.
The latter continued her testimony to the police that Eduarti brought the narcotic the day before the police went to the house. That same night, he packed and placed the packages in the "Volvo" car together with Asqeri alias Panajot Shahaj.
Eduard Mehmetaj, was dealing with insulating the soles of houses and painting cars. Other people took a "Volvo" vehicle to his service, contracting him to carry out possible modifications in order to hide 30 kg of hashish and 500 grams of cocaine, with the aim of trafficking it towards Greece.
This criminal file that holds No. 1142, shows an investigation that was being followed by the police and the prosecutor's office of Fier for the trafficking of a quantity of drugs from Albania to Greece.
But in the phone conversations, he accidentally brought out several other people who were talking about the packaging of several kilograms of hashish in the village of Cakran in Fier.
Since one of the people who spoke on the phone was not part of this investigation into drug trafficking in Greece, Fier prosecutor Petrit Vukaj decided to start the case mainly by opening another criminal file.
Through the monitoring of telephone intercepts, it has been learned that Eduard Mehmetaj from the village of Cakran i Fieri kept several kilograms of drugs packed in his apartment.
Based on this information, prosecutor Vukaj authorized the police to locate Mehmetaj's apartment and exercise physical control in it. After the controls, the police found inside the "Volvo" car the amount of 34 packages with 30 kg of cannabis and 500 grams of cocaine.
