A 32-year-old man on the international wanted list has been arrested in Tirana with the aim of extradition to Italy.
The arrested man is Bledar Barsan, who was wanted by Italian authorities after being sentenced by the Court of Ancona to 8 years, 11 months and 10 days in prison for wounding, resisting a police officer and theft, according to Italian criminal legislation.
The structures for investigating serious crimes arrested the 32-year-old, while Albanian authorities have initiated procedures for his extradition to Italy.
"Following the exchange of information and coordination of operational actions with Italian counterparts, through specialists from Interpol Tirana, carried out within the framework of the coded operation "The Wanted", specialists from the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector carried out actions for the provisional arrest, with the aim of extradition to Italy, of the citizen declared internationally wanted, Bledar Barsan, 32 years old. The Ancona Court has sentenced this citizen to 8 years, 11 months and 10 days of imprisonment, for injury, resisting a police officer and theft, according to the provisions of Italian criminal law. Interpol Tirana is cooperating with Interpol Rome to finalize the procedure for the extradition of this citizen to Italy", the police announced.
