One of the successful police operations that led to the arrest of the highly wanted Aldo alias Elidon Avdyli in Tirana is likely to now turn the attention of SPAK to a well-known issue of public interest, such as the unexplained disappearance of businessman Ervis Martinaj.
This sensitive file, currently suspended in the Lezha prosecutor's office, speaks of the tragic fate of the disappearance of the "king" of gambling in Albania, Ervis Martinaj, of whom there has been no trace since August 2022.
At that time, the file was registered for the charge of "Kidnapping or holding a person hostage" committed in the form of collaboration. But after several years of investigation, the case yielded nothing, except for several searches in the apartments of Astrit Avdyli, Jasin Avdyli and Aldo Avdyli.
The checks did not bring any results for the investigation, but for the Lezha police and prosecutor's office, Aldo Avdyli was one of the main suspects in the disappearance of Ervis Martinaj.
Therefore, after the arrest of this person in the "Dry Lake" area in Tirana, it is learned that SPAK has expressed interest in withdrawing the acts of this file for the purpose of studying and further questioning Aldo Avdyli in prison.
Aldo Avdyl's confrontation with this file could lead SPAK towards an opportunity to unravel the biggest mystery of the criminal world in Albania.
Currently, Aldo Avdyli has only three official charges, such as "Providing the conditions to commit the murder of Durim Bami, committed in the form of a criminal group with 16 other people, and "Premeditated murder" committed in the form of a "criminal group" against Edmir Bregu alias "Maloku".
Aldo Avdyli is not Astrit Avdyli's nephew as is often reported in the media. With Astrit Avdyli, they are cousins and not an uncle-nephew relationship.
