Other details regarding the serious incident where a 40-year-old Albanian woman was found dead on the street are coming to light.
According to the information, the 40-year-old Albanian woman identified as Enkelejda Danaj had filed two reports of domestic violence against her ex-husband, who is already targeted by the authorities and wanted.
The Greek authorities suspect that the author is her Albanian husband Eduart Denaj, where it was discovered that there was often violence in the family and they were in the process of divorce.
On April 3, 2013, the victim filed a lawsuit against her ex-partner for domestic violence, who was arrested and sent to the Prosecutor's Office.
On September 18, 2022, the victim filed a complaint against her ex-partner for domestic violence (threats, physical injury and insults), who was arrested and sent to the Prosecutor's Office. It is mentioned that there was a court order on the basis of which the author was forbidden to live with the victim, but she herself had allowed it since 2018. She was given a document for examination by the coroner and a form with the agencies and numbers of hotline for victims of domestic violence.
On May 7, 2024, the victim filed a lawsuit against her ex-partner for domestic violence (threats, physical injury and insults), who was arrested and sent to the Prosecutor's Office, while on Friday May 17, 2024, he would appear in court. He was given an order for forensic expertise and was given information, instructions and the necessary assistance from the competent bodies. In addition, she was informed about the possibility of installing the "Panic Button" application on her mobile phone and was given a code to access the said application. She was informed about the possibility of being transferred to a receiving facility and stated that she did not want to. All three times the author was arrested and the third time the prosecutor let him go.
At the same time, it is suspected that there is a witness who claims to have seen the woman at the time she was stabbed.
The body of the 40-year-old woman was found at the intersection of Parnithos and Aristotelous streets. She was spotted around 06:00 by a resident of the area and notified the police.
