A 56-year-old Albanian man has been arrested by Italian police on charges of 'drug possession with intent to distribute'.
Officers from the Bologna police station found about 800 grams of cocaine and about 4 thousand euros in the basement used by the Albanian.
The search of the 56-year-old's home was carried out after the Albanian was spotted exchanging drugs. Specifically, at around 11:30 in via Pizzardi, plainclothes patrols from the Bologna police station noticed the exchange of several bags of narcotics between the Albanian and an Italian, who in return gave him 100 euros.
The two people were immediately stopped by the police, who found several wraps of cocaine totaling 17.30 g and 470 euros in cash in the Albanian's pockets.
Based on this, the officers extended the search to the Albanian's apartment, finding other bags of cocaine totaling 782 grams and around 3,630 euros in cash in an unused basement.
Meanwhile, the 59-year-old Italian was administratively sanctioned for purchasing a dose of cocaine.
