The Belgian police have handcuffed two Albanian citizens who were cultivating narcotics, using a laundry room to hide the plants.
Belgian media reports that after the authorities' check, around 2,500 cannabis plants were found. The plants were organized in four rooms, they were not fully grown so they were not yet ready for harvesting.
This happened by chance, when a highway police team checked a van in Tessenderlo a while ago. In the loading area, the police found so-called cutting residues, the remains of a harvested cannabis plantation. Further investigation revealed that the van had previously been seen in the vicinity of the Delhaize supermarket in Olen which is very close to the found plantation.
The plantation was hidden at the back of the hall, which was divided in two with the help of a false wall.
Utilities dismantled the plantation on Tuesday morning, after which thousands of plants were cut down.
