A 26-year-old man on international wanted list has been arrested in Laç, as part of a police operation in cooperation with international authorities.
According to the official announcement, citizen Mateo Salela has been arrested , accused of involvement in a criminal group, as well as the criminal offenses of "violent theft" and "forgery of documents".
Judicial authorities in Spain issued an international arrest warrant against him in February 2026, considering him a suspect for several criminal events that occurred during 2025.
According to the investigation, the 26-year-old is suspected of committing burglaries in two apartments in different areas of Spain on March 14 and 15, 2025. He is also accused of tampering with a vehicle's license plates, forging them.
Meanwhile, Interpol Tirana has initiated procedures in cooperation with counterparts in Madrid to extradite the young man to Spain, where he will face justice.
"The operation codenamed "Operation 91" is being finalized by the Directorate of the Special Operations Force."

As a result of the exchange of information and coordination of operational actions with Spanish partners, the services of the Special Operational Force Directorate of the General Directorate of the State Police finalized the 91st phase of the operation codenamed "Operacionalja".
During this phase, citizen MS, 26 years old, was located and arrested in Laç, after the judicial authorities in Spain, in February 2026, issued an international arrest warrant for him, for the criminal offenses of "Theft with violence", "Forgery of documents" and "Criminal group".
Citizen MS is accused of having stolen from 2 apartments in different areas of Spain on March 14 and 15, 2025. He is also accused of having changed the license plates of a vehicle.
"Interpol Tirana is cooperating with counterparts in Madrid to extradite the 26-year-old to Spain ," the police announced.
