Anti-drug operation in Himara, over 300 cannabis plants destroyed; two people

Two people have been declared wanted following an anti-drug operation in Himara. They have been identified as Romeo Bezhani and Argjend Nanaj.

The 3 plots between the villages of Shën Vasil and Lukovë, in a rugged mountainous area, were discovered after drone checks. The police destroyed 302 cannabis plants and seized 121 kg of cannabis plants in the process of drying.

"The services of the Narcotics Investigation Section at the Vlora Police Department, in cooperation with the Vlora Border Police services, as a result of the controls carried out within the framework of the "Coordination" operational plan, based on the information provided, uncovered a case of cultivation of narcotic plants.

During a search of the territory, also using drones, the Police services, between the villages of Shën Vasil and Lukovë, in a steep mountainous area, discovered 3 plots where 302 suspected narcotic cannabis plants were cultivated, which were destroyed.

Following the investigative actions to identify the perpetrators of this cultivation case, the following citizens were declared wanted for the criminal offenses "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Production and sale of narcotics": RB, 41 years old, resident of Lukovë; AN, 30 years old, resident of Delvinë.

Also, as material evidence, a quantity of narcotic plants in the process of drying, weighing 121 kg, was seized.

Work continues to locate and hold the two suspected perpetrators legally accountable.

"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Vlora, for further action," the police announced.
