The Tirana court has remanded in prison Imer Krrashi alias Uka, who caused chaos and damage while attempting to escape from the police with a gun in his car. He was arrested in the Liqeni i Thatë area of Tirana for illegal possession of weapons after a police chase that resulted in several vehicles and a motorcycle colliding, injuring the driver and passenger of the latter, who turned out to be an off-duty police officer and his wife.
As soon as the officers asked him if he had any weapons or other illegal items and ordered him to get down for a physical check, the 31-year-old, a person with a criminal record, accelerated the car in the Dry Lake Area and drove away at high speed. In the footage published by the Police, the moment is seen when the officers chased the young man, arresting him and seizing the pistol he was carrying. Before the black squads, he apologized and expressed his willingness to compensate for the material damages.
"I regret the incident. I was in a state of panic and anxiety, my mother suffers from cancer, while my father passed away a short time ago, which I experienced badly. I was in a state of anxiety and panic. I take medication for anxiety and depression. I was in a serious condition. I undertake to compensate for the consequences of my actions, to pay damages to the people who were injured or whose vehicles were damaged," said Krrashi.
Krrashi is a well-known name in the justice system after being convicted in Italy for theft as part of Edison Pula's group. Edison Pula and Imer Krrashi were arrested in February 2022, while the former, then 27 years old, was accused of 50 thefts in Trentino. They were the protagonists of many criminal events, but one of the most sensational was on November 14, 2021, in Morocco, inside the villa of businessman Giancarlo Miotto.
