A conflict between a police officer and a business employee was recorded this morning in the area known as "Malajziani" in Tirana, due to a parked vehicle.
The clash began after employees of a bar asked the police officer to remove his car, which was allegedly parked near the business premises and was obstructing the service area.
The verbal argument between the parties quickly escalated. Security camera footage released by the media shows the moment when the police officer pulls out his service weapon and points it at the person he is in conflict with. Other people, including two women, were also at the scene.
The Police Supervision Agency (AMP) has launched an investigation into the case.
Sources indicate that the police officer, who is employed by the Tropoja Police, is being investigated at large. The criminal proceedings have been initiated in consultation with the prosecution and the case has been referred for further action.
In parallel, the Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police has launched a disciplinary investigation against the officer involved.
