Appears before the jury Orjol Lame, the driver who caused the tragedy of Gaida, Italy where his partner Shane Hyseni, 1 and a half year old son Matias and Shane's sister and brother Resat and Rejana lost their lives.
The prosecution considers him guilty of multiple street murders. The decision was made after an additional assessment overturned an initial expert opinion.
The young Albanian, who was driving a Fiat Stilo, will now have to answer for his actions in the court in Reggio. Lawyer Nicola Termanini, representative of the Hyseni parents, had a key role in the continuation of the case.
Lame was under the influence of narcotics and without regular documents on the night of the accident. He was a person with a previous criminal record.
Despite this, he was not arrested and was able to come to Albania as a result of several reports that supported his disability. Subsequent expertise has proven that Lame is able to answer for his actions.
We remember that Lame was in a coma for several months after that accident.
Lame was declared incompetent to participate in the trial as a "result of post-traumatic neurological damage with behavioral deficits to be re-evaluated".
The serious event happened on October 30 of last year. Orjol Lame, his wife Shane, son Mattias and the 22-year-old's sister and brother Rejana and Resati were returning from a dinner in Reggio Emilia when their vehicle crashed into an uninhabited house.
Shane, Mattias, Rejana and Resati lost their lives immediately as a result of the strong collision.
