The incident occurred in the village of Vilëz in Laç. It is initially suspected that it may be a conflict for revenge reasons. The elderly man was shot with a gun near his apartment. Meanwhile, the police are working to identify and capture the perpetrator or perpetrators.

Dodë Mamli is the father of Elton and Tom Mamli, involved in the Mamurras massacre in 2015.

About a month before the incident, Edmond Tafa and the defendant Gazmir Tafa beat Elton Mamli in Mamurras. After this incident, the Mamli brothers also argued with their cousin, Dorjan Mamli, over the fact that the latter was associating with the Tafajs, who were "their opponents."
