New details have been revealed in the murder of a 65-year-old man in Lezha, whose body was found on the riverbank with a gunshot wound. In addition to the wound, it is learned that the 65-year-old man also had signs of violence on his body.
The situation changes completely, as the victim turns out to have three protection orders from his son, who is said to have raped his father in recent years.
The victim had three protection orders from his son in three different years; in 2020, a protection order for psychological violence from his son. In 2022, he had received a protection order for physical and psychological violence, also from his son. Meanwhile, in 2023, his son was arrested by the police for domestic violence. This detail raises suspicions and the first lead for the investigation, regarding the perpetrator and the causes of the incident.
" At around 14:40, citizen A. Gj. called the Operations Room, informing that she had lost contact with her father, citizen Gj. T., 65 years old, resident of Pllanë, Lezha. Immediately, the Police services began searching for him. After several hours of searching, at around 17:30, on the banks of the Mat River, in Pllanë, Lezha, citizen Gj. T. was found without signs of life.
From the preliminary examination, the victim has signs of violence, including a wound to the body, suspected to have been caused by a firearm.
A special investigative group has been set up, which is at the scene and, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to clarify the circumstances, legal documentation, as well as the identification and capture of the perpetrator(s). Meanwhile, the Police services and those of the National Security Force, Shkodra Unit, are searching the area with the aim of capturing the perpetrator(s) , "the police announced.
