A young Albanian, who was caught in a "bar house" in Ostend, will have to stay in Belgium for another 1 month under the security measure of prison arrest, after the decision taken yesterday to extend the investigations.
According to foreign media, some police officers discovered the "bar's house" by chance, after a fire engulfed the building in which the bar's house was also located.
The resident of the third floor was trying to fill some lighters with gas cylinders, but a spark set the whole apartment on fire. Emergency services were immediately on the scene and the road was largely closed so the emergency services could carry out their work.
The police discovered in the next room, of the house next door, a cannabis plantation with 500 plants.
The 21-year-old Albanian man was arrested and has been in prison for a month, while he will remain there for another month next month, after the Bruges Chamber of Council decided yesterday to extend his detention.
