According to them, he was kidnapped in the African country, but managed to escape and sought the help of his mother, who notified the Albanian authorities. The police have subsequently sent a special group there.
" Based on the information received from the communication between the Ministry of Justice and the State Police, it turned out that the 19-year-old was in a serious emotional state and in order to enable his return to Albania, the intervention of specialized State Police officers was necessary to escort him from the city of Freetown to Tirana ," the police said.
According to her, the State Police immediately organized the work of sending police officers (from Interpol Tirana and the RENEA Special Department) to Sierra Leone, in order to accompany the 19-year-old, cooperating closely with the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs for the procedures for obtaining an entry visa and with the State Police liaison officer attached to the Albanian Embassy in London.

The State Police, after receiving electronically from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs the request of a citizen seeking assistance from the state for the return of her son to Albania, who claimed that her 19-year-old son had been kidnapped in the city of Freetown, Sierra Leone, and had then managed to escape by going to the police station of this city.
Based on the information received from the communication between the MEPJ and the State Police, it turned out that the 19-year-old was in a serious emotional state and in order to enable his return to Albania, the intervention of specialized State Police officers was necessary to escort him from the city of Freetown to Tirana.
Immediately, the State Police organized the work of sending Police officers (from Interpol Tirana and the RENEA Special Department) to Sierra Leone, in order to accompany the 19-year-old, cooperating closely with the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs for the procedures for obtaining an entry visa and with the State Police liaison officer attached to the Albanian Embassy in London/United Kingdom.
Interpol Tirana also coordinated with Interpol Freetown for the 19-year-old's speedy return to Albania.
State Police officers traveled to Sierra Leone, where they met with representatives of Interpol Freetown, and after the necessary coordination, the 19-year-old's trip to Albania was made possible, which was carried out without any problems.
The 19-year-old's mother thanked the State Police and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for returning her son to Albania.
