The Spanish Civil Guard has arrested three Albanians and is investigating a fourth, in the largest operation against indoor marijuana cultivation in the province.
A total of 3,880 marijuana plants, weighing 330 kilograms, were seized in two laboratories located in a residential area in Maello.
Three people were arrested during this operation, while a fourth is being investigated for suspected crimes against public health that included drug trafficking and electricity fraud.
The Civil Guard is continuing investigations to determine the full extent of the criminal activity and the possible involvement of an Albanian drug trafficking organization.
This investigation stems from previous investigations that led members of this force to suspect that illegal narcotics-related activities could be taking place inside two apartments in a residential area of this city.
For this reason, surveillance equipment was installed in the area to verify the aforementioned suspicions.
