The program "Në Shënjestre" by Klodiana Lala on News 24, dealt with the assassination attempt against Gentian Bejtja, who was executed with a barrage of bullets last Friday.

He had been hiding for a long time. Rumors said that a criminal gang in the north of the country had sheltered him for months in its bosom, in a secret base. Where he rarely went out, or accompanied by reliable people. This was how life had been for him since the second assassination in a row that was done to him, at the beginning of 2022, where he was also injured, from which he realized that those who were looking to get rid of him, were not enough with the first attack happened to him 6 years earlier, where they placed a quantity of explosives in the trunk of the car. But they were looking for his elimination at all costs.
Just as they tried without success, also in the third ambush, in July 2023. Where, although they did not kill him, they managed to hit his close family, leaving them dead at the door of the apartment, his brother-in-law and injured, two small children in the car. But it seems that the deprivation in a hidden base was getting close to Gentjan Bejtja recently, and for this reason he decided to return to his family, in the village of Larushke. There, where this time the shooters did not make a mistake, and left him dead, on the afternoon of March 15, in the interior of his apartment. Only a few minutes after he was back there, after a long absence. But why was Gentjan Bejtja, once a former prison employee, such a coveted target for his enemies?
What did he know about the many criminal events that had happened in his area, but also around. and what was the involvement in some of them that led to his mouth being shut up once and for all? It is difficult, if not impossible, that Gentjan Bejtja was not aware of many of the serious events that took place in Albania, especially after 2013. But it is just as difficult to speak with certainty as to the extent of the involvement his in these events. Although the end of the partnership of what until yesterday was known as Nikla's Gang, and the grudges that followed between the leaders of the group, may have led to the earlier assassinations against him, but also the last one, where he was killed in the courtyard of the villa his three-storey house in the village of Larushk in Fushë-Kruja.
"On March 15, 2024, in the village of Larushk, Krujë, citizen Gentjan Bejtja was shot dead by unidentified persons. In the continuation of the investigative actions, a "Land Rover" type vehicle, white, burnt, was found in the village of Hasan, inside which four firearms were found, which were also burnt", explained the police.
But to stay first with the last assassination that took the life of Gentjan Bejtje, it is of interest to see once again the way the shooters acted, and whether this ambush deserves to be called sophisticated or not. And if the father of two was ambushed this time and who betrayed him? Those who were keeping him sheltered in a lair, and who were no longer needed, or the betrayal came from within the village, where he had clashes with those who were once friends, and over time turned into his enemies.
According to the data provided by the show 'Në Shënjester', after the third assassination attempt on him on July 4, 2023, where he was killed at the door of his villa in the village of Larushk, the brother-in-law Ramazan Sino, and the son of his 13-year-old son, Gentjan Bejtja, who is thought to have gotten out of the car just a few minutes before he was shot, had decided not to return to the apartment for some time. But recently, he had fled and returned to live in his village, but this time not in his apartment, but in that of his parents, where he was staying together with his two sons and his wife. He is also said to have moved into his parents' apartment a week ago, just a few meters away from his own. According to the testimony given by his father, Gentjani had made this choice in order to protect himself from another attack.
"On the day of the incident, Gentjani was in our apartment, where he was busy with various jobs. He had returned to the village a week ago, and was living with his children and wife in our apartment. Around noon, he left the apartment and headed towards his own, which is next to us. But just a few minutes after he came out we heard multiple gunshots and ran to see what had happened. Further, Gentjan Bejtja's father said that when he went to his son's apartment, he found him in the last throes, or almost dead. Although they tried to give him first aid, this aid turned out to be useless. "As soon as we arrived at Gentjan's apartment, we saw that his body was in the greenhouse next to the house. We took him out to the yard, and tried to give him help, but it was useless. After the son had passed away", says the father.
Gentjan Bejtja's wife was also questioned about the incident. But, in the conditions of severe mental shock, she could not give any details of importance to the investigative team. That he has decided to interrogate her once again, as soon as her psychological state is more stable.
