Authorities in Montenegro have arrested the perpetrator of a triple murder that occurred in Podgorica.
According to the Police Directorate, Vehad Murić from Rožaje was located and arrested after a large-scale and coordinated operation between security units in the north and center of the country. The action took place in the urban area of Rožaje.
He was wanted as a suspect in the murder of Albanian brothers Denis Hoti and Nezrin Hoti, as well as the murder of 56-year-old Kenan Miraljemović.
“ Police officers of the Police Directorate of the Regional Security Center 'North', with continuous support and cooperation with officers of the Regional Security Center 'Center', after conducting extensive operational activities and precisely executed tactical actions, located VM (25) from Rozhaja, suspected of the criminal offense of aggravated murder, in an open area in the center of the city of Rozhaja, and deprived him of his liberty, about which the state prosecutor at the High State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was notified ,” the police announced.
Preliminary investigation data indicates that the crime occurred at night, in a rented apartment in Podgorica, where the victims and the suspect were temporarily living due to work at a construction site.
Police sources indicate that the incident is not related to a clash between criminal groups, but is suspected to have occurred as a result of a personal conflict between the parties. Preliminary investigations suggest that the murder may have been committed with a cold weapon. After the incident, the suspect is suspected of having fled towards Rozhaja, where according to initial information he also abused his mother in the family apartment.
