The court of Lezha has sentenced Oltion Vlashin and Klaudio Përkolen to 30 years in prison as accomplices in the murder of Bujar Lika and Paulin Gjergjit, which happened in May 2020 in a bar in Kurbin.
The two young men were found guilty of the criminal offenses of "murder committed in cooperation" and "arms possession without a permit", while the verdict was given by the jury headed by judge Sokol Shehu.
Even the prosecutor's office of Lezha had requested this measure of punishment, which managed to prove that the two persons who continue to be on the run were accomplices in the double murder.
Earlier, for the murder of Bujar Lika and Paulin Gjergji, Eduart Lamaj was sentenced to life imprisonment in the role of the executor and Ilir Likaj (Xhepaj) to 33 years in prison in the role of the assistant in this crime. The latter was arrested a few months after the incident in Yzberishtit in Tirana, while Eduart Lamaj was handcuffed while receiving treatment in the premises of a private clinic in the "Student City" area, after he was wounded in the leg by the exchange of fire with one of the victims, citizen Bujar Lika.
This episode helped the police quickly clarify the event and identify the perpetrators, while the motives of the event continue to remain unclear. Bujar Lika and Paulin Gjergji were executed with a barrage of bullets while they were drinking coffee in a bar on the side of the Milot-Thumanë highway, while the 4 perpetrators drove away with a golf 5 type vehicle.
How did the event happen?
Four people, led by Eduart Lamaj, rushed into the parking lot of the hotel, where Bujar Lika and Paulin Gjergji were drinking coffee, with the intention of executing the former.
With the doors open, one of them, with a pistol in his hand, goes to the "Range Rover" type car, where the sons of the businessman Paulin Gjergji were, while they beg him not to kill them.
While Gjergji's sons were neutralized, a person with a white brand, who according to the prosecution is suspected to be Eduart Lamaj, enters a hotel first with a Kalashnikov in hand, shooting immediately in the direction of Lika, while the latter responds with pistol wounding him in the leg.
The person with the white mark remains injured from the clash with the gun, while the two friends arrive there to pull him out, leaving the gun in a vase for a moment, which he then returns to pull out.
While fleeing, it is suspected that the perpetrators shot in the direction of Kreshnik Tushaj, whom they thought had ambushed them. After the assassination attempt with two deaths, Tushaj appeared injured in the hospital, stressing that he was injured at the door of the house by unknown persons.
The moment of the injury and the proximity to the scene made the prosecution suspect that Tusaj was one of the assassins, but the arrest of Eduart Lamaj saved Tusaj from the charges.
The execution of Lika and Gjergji in Laç has brought back fears of a fierce clash between criminal groups in Tirana and Laç, which has so far caused at least four deaths.
