New details continue to emerge about the serious incident in Tepelena where Italian Edoardo Sarchi was killed
Sarchi had lived in Albania for years, where he had invested in the construction sector. He was the administrator of a brick factory in Tirana and of the Italian-Albanian company Tegola Edilcentro, an activity that had directly linked him to the local market.
According to Italian media, his name there was linked to politics through his father, Vittorio Sarchi, a historical figure of the right in the Luino area. The deceased was a close associate of Senator Piero Pellicini and for many years active in local institutional life, serving as a security advisor and then as a municipal councilor. After 2015, he retired from political life, and passed away in 2022 at the age of 81.
Italian media describe the murder of his son as a "great shock" for the community of Cunardo and the entire territory of Luino, recalling the strong ties of the Sarchi family to politics and public life in Lombardy.
The investigations launched in Albania are still in the early stages, while the motive for the assassination remains unclear. The prosecution is verifying leads related to both business activity and a personal conflict.
