The Tirana Court passed the case file of the suspected perpetrators of the murder of Gentjan Bejtja, an event that occurred in March 2024 in Larushk, Fushë-Krujë.
The defendants in this process are Ilir Beqaraj and Edison Haxhiu, while Florian Plaku, who is suspected of taking refuge in Dubai, remains internationally wanted.
Ilir Beqaraj was absent from this Friday's session, presenting a medical report to the court, explaining that the reason for his absence was related to health reasons.
Beqaraj and Plaku, in collaboration with each other, are suspected of having committed the murder of Gentjan Bejtja, while Haxhiu provided the conditions.
Before his execution, Gentjan Bejtja was subjected to several gun attacks, where in July 2023, it is suspected that in an attempt to kill him, his brother-in-law Ramazan Sino lost his life and Bejtja's 2 minor sons were injured. On January 9, 2022, Gentian Bejtja, a former prison police officer, escaped an assassination attempt with a Kalashnikov rifle near Nikla in Fushë-Krujë, but his 31-year-old friend Klodian Stafuka was wounded in the arm.
