The police have arrested the much-wanted Pjetër Paçan, who was convicted of murder.
61-year-old Pjetër Paçani was arrested today by the Feri police, while he was one of the 50 most wanted people in the country, who had been hiding for 13 years.
During his arrest, 3 automatic weapons and pistols were found with him.
Paçani killed two people in 2011, citizens Ndoc Zymaj and Vlash Gjeçi, where the reason is thought to be a debt of 100 thousand euros. For this double murder, he was sentenced by the Court of Tirana to 25 years in prison in 2014.
How did the event happen?
Paçani shot dead Ndoc Zymaj and Vlash Gjeçi. The event came after a conflict caused by the non-return of a foreigner. The businessman from Laçi had received an amount of 100 thousand euros from Ndoc Zymaj through a contract.
However, the businessman Paçani had not been correct with the set deadline. For this reason, the businessman and the lender have conflicted through phone messages, reaching the point of insulting and insulting each other. After the conversations and text messages, Paçani made a meeting with Zymaj and Gjeçi.
At the exact moment when the last two people were waiting for the return of the debt, Paçani, then 48 years old, shot them to death with a pistol. The event took place on the Laç-Tirana highway, in a bar called "Exen". The businessman of the concrete company, at the moment he entered the bar, shot his two friends from a close distance, addressing them with the words: "Shani again from mother and sister".
In the last moments, Vlash Gjeçi addressed his friend with the words "he betrayed us", which was also confirmed by the witnesses in the trial. In the end, the Court, although the Prosecution demanded a sentence of life imprisonment, granted 25 years of imprisonment for Pjetër Paçan.
The latter managed to leave the scene and is still a wanted person, even though 7 years have passed since the event. In the conclusions of the Prosecutor's Office, it was shown that one of the victims, Ndoc Zymaj, is Paçani's cousin, at the same time supplier and manager of the inert washing plant in FushëMilot, which is owned by businessman Pjetër Paçani.
Although Paçani presented documents signed by him to the Police and the Court after the incident, the forces of order failed to track down the Lacian. The author and the two victims, Ndoc Zymaj and Vlash Gjeçi, were residents of the city of Laçi, known for years and with good and close social and family relations between them.
It was documented during the investigation that the defendant Paçani, for the needs of his business, had borrowed a financial sum of over 100,000 euros with an interest rate, an amount which has not been returned. The fact of the debt, according to the indictment, is proven in several messages discovered on the phones of the victims. Before the serious incident, there was a fight between the businessman and the two victims via SMS due to the non-return of the loan.
