New details have come to light from the arrest of 39-year-old Ardian Sufajt in Shengjin, who was wanted for trafficking 100 kilograms of cocaine and hostage-taking.

The police action started 3 days ago on June 14, where the Italian police started implementing the arrest warrant issued by the Court of Genoa, at the request of the Prosecutor's Office. In total, there were 9 arrest warrants, 5 people of Albanian nationality, 3 of Dominican nationality and one person from Ecuador, accused of drug trafficking.

It is learned that the trafficked amount of 100 kg of cocaine was hidden in bags and transported in a container on board a ship that departed on November 20, 2022 from the port of Guayaquil (Ecuador), where during the voyage the cargo disappeared and the ship arrived in Genoa without drugs.

The group was sophisticated and had taken measures not to fall into the nets of investigators as they had the latest generation of encrypted mobile phones. This group is also accused of kidnapping with intent to extort an Italian citizen to provide information on the person whom the suspects considered responsible for the theft of 100 kg of cocaine. They forced him into a car and then took his cell phone, forcing him to send voicemails to the suspected drug thief, interrogating him and threatening him with torture and revenge against his family .

During this operation, an undercover agent was hired to infiltrate the criminal group, consisting of Albanian, Dominican and Ecuadorian citizens, and then carried out the action through wiretapping.

The Dominican Joel De Jesus Castillo Tapia and the Ecuadorian citizens Holger Ernesto Vila Quinonez were initially captured. After the investigations, the Albanian citizen Nevian Vasaj, who was armed, was also arrested. The development of the investigations led to the escape to Albania of the main members of the criminal group, who continued to organize drug trafficking in the Italian territory from Albania.

After the investigations, the Italian police, in cooperation with the Albanian police, arrested the Albanian Ardian Sufaj, for whom they had provided information about where he was hiding since June 14. According to the indictment, the head of the Andiol Xhindoli organization, Andrea Vasaj, the Dominican Francisco José Castillo Tapia, residing in Massa, and Hane Sufaj, residing in Pisa, ended up in handcuffs. Searches are underway in La Spezia, Massa, Carrara and Pisa.

The criminal organization allegedly paid the Port Authority official who had to extract the drug cargo 200,000 euros for 50 kilograms of cocaine released from the port of Genoa. According to what resulted from the investigations, the head of the organization, Hane Sufaj, met last year with a person named Gian, who was introduced by a frequenter of the drug trafficking squares.

Gian and Sufaj agreed to a first "trial" shipment of 50 kilos of cocaine just to "test the reliability and effective "working" skills of "Gian" (who was actually the undercover agent) accepting the required fee of 200 thousand euros". In order not to be discovered, Hane Sufaj also provides him with an encrypted phone built in Israel. The shipment of 100 kilograms is then arranged but does not arrive in Genoa. At that moment, the Italian who had acted as an intermediary between Gian and Sufaj, was kidnapped by some members of the group.
