Italian police have seized a nightclub in the province of Forlì Cesena and 7 garages located between the Rimini area and the provinces of Ravenna and Pesaro Urbino. This disproportionate wealth compared to the income declared by an Albanian family was seized by the Guardia di Finanza, which followed an investigation launched last year.
Three people, a father, mother and their son of Albanian origin, managers of a hotel in Cattolica until the summer of 2021, stole the credit card details of their customers and then made online purchases with them. 150 transactions were carried out by the three who extorted 145 thousand euros.
The suspects only had to copy the 16 digits that appear on the card and the three on the back. If the unlucky customer didn't have an online authorization or transaction notification system connected to their cell phone, it was game over.
They were just some of the victims who reported, 56 people who after their vacations on the Riviera in 2021 realized that something in their bank accounts did not match.
Therefore the investigation by the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Rimini, in December 2022 led to the first seizure of the stolen sums. Specialists continued to dig into the family's assets, managing to demonstrate a disproportion between the income declared between 2017 and 2021 and the accumulated assets, over one million euros, which also caused the preventive sequestration of the properties.
