Actress Kate Winslet has revealed some previously undisclosed secrets from her experience on the set of Titanic. The actress made some interesting revelations about the 1997 film during a recent interview at a preview screening of her upcoming film 'Lee' in New York City on Monday. Foreign media reports that one of these accounts was about the infamous door scene after the ship sank.
“It was waist deep,” she said of the water in the reservoir, adding that it was a pretty tough reservoir.
“Leo, I'm afraid to say he was on his knees. I don't have to say it anyway, Jimmy Cameron is going to call me,” Winslet joked about the possibility of the director hearing about spilling the secrets of the film.
Winslet also revealed that it was very easy for her to get in and out of the tank to go to the bathroom during filming.
“Actually, the thing that was amazing about the edges of the tank was that it was an infinity tank. So the water was constantly flowing and you could hear the constant sound of the water.”
The actress added that everyone is very connected to the last 22 minutes of the film "because you can hear this sound of water the whole time".
'Titanic' is one of the most famous films in history, grossing over $2 billion worldwide since its release in 1997. The film is a fictional account of the sinking of the Titanic in April 1912, capsizing which killed more than 1,500 passengers after the ship collided with an iceberg. The story also deals with the theme of love between Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater, who fall in love on board the ship before their tragic voyage.
