Baruch Spinoza is one of the most brilliant and subversive figures in modern philosophy. A Jew of Portuguese origin, born in 17th-century Amsterdam, he laid the foundations of a thought that would forever transform the relationship between man and God, politics and reason, freedom and necessity.
Spinoza was not just a philosopher; he was a revolutionary of thought who, with his intellectual courage, challenged the established norms of the time, and who for this reason was expelled from the Jewish community with an eternal curse.
Spinoza's concept of God

So don't blame me for everything I made you believe.
Stop reading dubious scriptures that have nothing to do with me. If you can't read me in a sunrise, in a landscape, in the look of your friends, in the eyes of your son... you won't find me in any book!
Trust me and don't ask me again. Will you tell me how to do my job?
Enough of being so afraid of me. I do not judge you, nor criticize you, nor get angry, nor seek to punish you. I am pure love.
Enough of apologizing, there is nothing to forgive. If I have made you... I have filled you with passions, limitations, pleasures, feelings, needs, inconsistencies... free will.How can I blame you if you respond to something I put into you? How can I punish you for being the way you are, if I am the one who made you?
Do you think I could create a place to burn all my misbehaving children for the rest of eternity? What kind of God would do that?
Forget all kinds of commands, all kinds of laws; they are to be manipulated, to be controlled, they only create usury in you.
Respect your peers and don't do to them what you wouldn't want done to you.
The only thing I ask is that you pay attention to your life, for your consciousness is your guide.

Mjaft më lavdëruat, çfarë lloj egomaniak Zoti mendoni se jam?
Jam mërzitur duke u lavdëruar, jam lodhur duke u falënderuar. Ndjeheni mirënjohës? Vërtetoje duke u kujdesur për veten, shëndetin, marrëdhëniet, botën.
Shprehni gëzimin tuaj!... kjo është mënyra për të më lavdëruar.Mjaft i komplikove gjërat dhe përsërite si papagall atë që të kanë mësuar për mua.
E vetmja gjë e sigurt është se ti je këtu, se je gjallë, dhe se kjo botë është plot me çudira.Për çfarë keni nevojë për më shumë mrekulli?
Pse kaq shumë shpjegime?Më kërko jashtë... nuk do të më gjesh. Më gjeni brenda... atje jam duke rrahur zemrat dhe shpirtrat brenda jush.
Beso te energjia në vibracionet e tingujve dhe elektriciteti.
Zoti është pikerisht aty.
Në qendër të filozofisë së tij qëndron koncepti "Deus sive Natura": Zoti ose natyra. Për Spinozën, këto nuk janë dy realitete të ndara, por një e vetme substancë, e pafundme dhe e domosdoshme. Nuk ka Zot jashtë natyrës, dhe nuk ka natyrë pa Zot. Kjo ide rrëzon në mënyrë radikale metafizikën tradicionale të një Zoti personal, të jashtëm e të mbinatyrshëm, duke i dhënë vend një kuptimi imanen të hyjnores; ku gjithçka që ekziston është shprehje e domosdoshme e kësaj substance të vetme.
Në këtë sistem, edhe mendja dhe trupi nuk janë dy substanca të ndara, siç mësonte Descartes, por dy "moduse" të të njëjtës realitet: mendja është mënyra se si e perceptojmë mendërisht realitetin, ndërsa trupi është mënyra e tij shtrirëse. Ky monizëm radikal e shndërron njeriun në pjesë integrale të natyrës, dhe për pasojë, liria nuk qëndron në një vullnet të çliruar nga nevoja, por në njohjen e ligjësive që e rregullojnë realitetin. Një njeri është i lirë jo kur bën çfarë i pëlqen, por kur kupton domosdoshmërinë e natyrës dhe jeton në përputhje me të.
Spinoza understands ethics not as a system of rules dictated by an external authority, but as an attempt to achieve "the joy of reason", a form of complete understanding that frees man from blind passions and irrational fears. From this also comes his political commitment: a just society is one that guarantees freedom of thought, expression and the search for truth. Authority should not be based on fear and dogma, but on the knowledge and rational education of citizens.
Considered by his descendants as a representative of extreme rationalism, Spinoza is in fact the founder of a new secular spirituality, where reason, nature and coexistence become the only sacred things. In an era like today, filled with populism, existential fears and the return of authoritarian beliefs, his message remains fresh and necessary: to be free means to think.
Spinoza's writing is difficult, almost mathematical, because he conceives of philosophy as a logical system elaborated with great rigor; a reflection of the way nature itself works. But behind this formalism lies a deep passion for truth and a sensitivity for man as a being who can rise above his passions, through a conscious path towards meaning.
If there is one lesson that Albanians can learn from Spinoza, it is this: there is no freedom without knowledge, no progress without meaning, no peace without reasoning. And above all, there is no God who saves us from our ignorance, except our own nature, when we deeply understand it and live according to it./ Pamphlet
