Berisha reacts to the government's action in Theth: Rama is a rotten soul,
Sali Berisha

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, gave a statement to the media from the blue headquarters, where he spoke about the situation in Theth.

Authorities are removing illegal buildings, which has led to opposition and protests from residents.

Berisha states that not a single meter of those lands is "learned", as Prime Minister Rama calls them, but rather they are inherited from generation to generation, and are maintained by the residents of the area who promote the beauties of Theth and tourism.

The chief democrat argues that as long as there was no concrete in these huts or containers that serve tourism, they are not considered illegal buildings.

"No inch is 'xanun's land', every inch of land of those villagers is land inherited from generation to generation. If they really have placed cabins or containers on their land in violation of the laws, they have certainly committed a violation, but not of the urban planning law, because that law does not consider constructions without foundations as unauthorized constructions. It considers them as self-declared constructions,"  he said.

Meanwhile, Berisha criticizes the fact that the interventions were made at the peak of the summer season, causing foreign tourists to face being left without their booked lodges.

"Whatever their home was, at the height of the tourist season, others have come from Australia, they have booked from Germany, Israel, Egypt, France, Italy, they have booked their vacations, and this one goes out and sends a gang in uniform there to dismantle their cabins or whatever they are, to wage a battle where residents and tourists are united. This is an outpouring of hatred by a man who represents a body of human hatred," he said.

Berisha adds that if there were violations in the area by residents, the government should have waited for the end of the season to act.

"But if violations have been committed there, then every state sends a notification, and there is no state that intervenes in the middle of the season. Wait for the season to end and act! It is being resolved in the middle of a season as paternal revenge," he said.

There were also insults towards the prime minister from Berisha, regarding the situation in Theth.

"Can a man send phalanxes to Theth and take away another's cabin from the yard of his own house, when it is full of tourists and others are booked? Only a wretched soul, who has the soul of his father, the executioner Kristaq Rama, would do this,"  he said.
