The member of the leadership of the Democratic Party, Aldo Bumçi, spoke about the trial against Sali Berisha on the issue of the privatization of the former "Partizani" complex. He stated that the process against Berisha is an open violation of the Constitution to attack the opposition.
"To make it clear to the citizens, what is happening is a conscious open violation of the Albanian constitution, of the law of this country and of taking the powers of the parliament to attack the opposition.
There is no room for any other interpretation and the insistence of the court when it knows the law to follow in this direction is a very bad message for this society. In the constitution of Albania and in the code of criminal procedure, it is written that the restriction of freedom in any form and then the code of criminal procedure says the prohibition to leave the country, the obligation to appear and so on are forms of restriction of freedom.
So the court cannot limit the freedom of a deputy except by obtaining the approval of the assembly for this ," said Bumçi for "Ora News".
