The head of the DP, Lulzim Basha, appeared at a press conference today, where he reacted once again to the issue of Criminal Amnesty, which was withdrawn from the agenda in the Assembly and was not approved.
Basha stated that he hopes that the amnesty will not turn into a bargain to try to buy votes from the ranks of the opposition.
The head of the opposition emphasized that his group can vote in favor of it if the proposals benefiting the officials convicted by SPAK are removed and the pardon includes the protesters arrested in the previous opposition protests.
"Also this Thursday, government acts were approved for 8 minutes and any space for the opposition to do its duty for transparency and nailing government affairs was blocked. After the session, we heard a statement from the government about why the amnesty was withdrawn from the agenda. I hope it was part of the lies and that they will not turn the amnesty into a living thing to fish for votes. If they really want to have a humanitarian approach to amnesty, the path is simple. 1 to remove the proposals to benefit corrupt officials and secondly to include in the amnesty those who delay the trials such as the protesters of Astir, River Bank, who stood up in protests to protect their property, but also those who protested against the theft of elections. We have this as a condition and there is no withdrawal. This is our position," said Basha.
