Former KLA fighter Dritan Goxhaj was arrested in Tirana by order of the Special Court. In an interview for "News 24", Colonel Dilaver Goxhaj spoke about the arrest of his son.
The colonel calls on the government of Kosovo and the Albanian government to react to the case involving his son Dritan Goxhaj, a former KLA fighter.
He stated that Albania is behaving like a protectorate of the Special Court. While he does not accept the fact that there will be a trial without the presence of a lawyer.
"When he was leaving the lawyer's office, the postman came and brought him the notification that the request for renewal was confirmed. But today they wanted to hold the trial for the revocation of the security measure, we told him. In the courtroom I found that they were the administrators of the administration of the Court of Kosovo. So a trial without the presence of a lawyer. This was a surprise for both us and the boy. What is this great urgency? It seems as if Albania looks like the protectorate of the Special Court, this makes all structures of the Albanian state non-existent.
How is it possible that neither the lawyer nor the family nor anyone else is notified? I ask the court to do it with open doors. It is a great offense to my son. I call on the government of Kosovo and the Republic of Albania to stop this case. I say this with conviction and hope that this request will be taken into account. The lawyer is in the process of preparing to take him to Strasbourg to put the two governments on trial for such a huge violation. An unprecedented case" , said Dilaver Goxhaj.
