Former President Bamir Topi has stated that the Democratic Party has been chronically ill for many years.
Asked why the Democratic Party does not capitalize on everything that happens in Albania, Topi said that the Democratic Party is chronically ill and, according to him, this illness could leave it with severe consequences without any chance of recovery.
"Since we talked about illness, here we are in the territory of a chronic illness. So, if in another situation we have an acute, complicated illness, here is the situation of a chronic illness that has been going on for years. And of course, chronic illness can leave you with very serious problems without any chance of recovery," said Topi.
The former president noted that the opposition is in a dramatic incompetence and has inflicted on the people a "systematic decapitation of valuable people in the Democratic Party. This has not come in a month, in a year, but from the beginning."
According to Topi, here politics has disqualified qualified people, unlike what happens in world politics.
"When it comes to the opposition as an institution, I try to be very careful because in a situation where the majority has seized every kind of power, then what is left to say about the opposition. You can only say that; a dramatic incompetence coming from the opposition."
It is a systematic beheading of valuable people in the Democratic Party. This has not come in a month, in a year, but from the beginning. I mean endless people and it could have been the army in a positive sense, more qualitative to do the rotation in Albania.
"Because we always wrongly consider politics as a physical sport, a speed sport, while world politics over the years qualifies people. We have systematically disqualified qualified people," Topi declared in "Trialog."
