Prime Minister Edi Rama in his end-of-year conference was asked shortly before the decision of GJKKO to accept SPAK's request for house arrest with police at the door for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
The head of the Albanian government said that he has no comment on someone who has been declared non grata by the US.
" I have no comment, I don't deal with someone who has been declared non grata by the USA, I already said it at the beginning of the time. My dreams are much bigger than related to possessed persons. I don't see in my dreams how people are punished.
We have no reason to think about this, we have a lot of work to do, Albania does not have much time to lose, we are the majority and we are the only force that can take this country forward. For 1001 reasons, the next elections will confirm this majority ," said Rama.
Judge Irena Gjoka announced the decision today, accepting SPAK's request for tightening the security measure for the former prime minister.
From today, Sali Berisha will remain under house arrest under police supervision.
The Special Prosecutor's Office has received authorization from the Assembly to raise the measure of arrest against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, a person under investigation for the Partizani case, due to the obligation to appear, which he did not respect under house arrest under police supervision and not to have any communication with persons other than family members in the apartment.
