The surprising appointment of Blendi Goxha at the head of a super-ministry that contains three old dicasteries does not seem so random. People within the SP have felt the signs of this maneuver for a year.
Precisely, before the elections of May 14 of last year, in a lightning-fast manner, the director of DPSHTRR, Blendi Gonxhe, received the tessa of the Socialist Party. And by special order of Edi Rama, the Kombinat area in Tirana is put under his patronage. A super important area for political balances within the majority. Known as the area of Saimir Tahir, in the 2021 elections it was taken over by Belinda Balluku, which brought a strong clash between the number two of the government and the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj. But on the eve of May 14, Edi Rama, without asking Lali at all, informs him that the Socialist Party's man in the combine will be Blendi Goxhe. Who had joined the party, without the knowledge of the political leader of Tirana, or his direct boss in the ministry, Belinda Balluku.
The Prime Minister asked Veliaj not to make any noise regarding the appointment of Gonxhe to the combine, otherwise any news leak would be his direct responsibility.
Here we are today, when Edi Rama has not only promoted Gonxhe as a super minister of the government, but has clearly declared him a "reformer".
A political movement that comes directly after a fiasco of Veliaj in Tirana region, where he lost Kavaja, caused problems in Rrogozhinë. Add here the problems of investigations on incinerators, Lali is no longer the political novelty of the Socialist Party.
And here Rama has shown that his plan when he took over the SP was detailed, even with the relevant people he had since he was elected Minister of Culture and Mayor of Tirana. Where Blendi Gonxhe was the main one next to him, or as it is called the right wing.
With a perfidious calmness, Rama took Blendi Gonxha both to the municipality of Tirana, where he managed the greening with Lali Er, and to the Directorate of Vehicles under the authority of Belinda Balluku.
Today he brings him to the government, giving him a high political authority, which is nothing but the antechamber to ascend to the head of the Socialist Party.
What will Gonxhe's function be in the future? In all likelihood to be ready for a very large trampoline. Either ready in any possible accident for the mayor of Tirana, or according to all possibilities, the number two of the Socialist Party. In the absence of a successor, Blendi Goxhe can now be considered the real right wing of Edi Rama in the socialist majority.
Meanwhile, there is no doubt that in the parliamentary elections of 2025, Gonxhe will lead the socialist list in the capital, being the political head of the district.
