DP leader Sali Berisha has made a series of strong accusations regarding an alleged international scandal, which according to him involves well-known names such as former FBI agent Charles McGonigal, Prime Minister Edi Rama and representatives of Chinese secret services.
According to Berisha, on September 9, 2017, McGonigal, identified in internal documents as “Eye One,” held a private dinner with Prime Minister Rama in Tirana. Berisha claims that Dorian Duçka, a close advisor to Rama and a government official with a diplomatic passport, was also present at this meeting.
"After this dinner, McGonigal sends a message to his superiors that he was with the Prime Minister of Albania and that they were discussing justice reform. But in reality, in this meeting he asked Rama to revoke the license of a Russian company and give it to another company, also Russian," Berisha said.
Berisha adds that McGonigal acted in the interests of Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, who, according to him, was represented in this process through McGonigal and his associate Shestakov.
But what Berisha describes as the "Chinese dimension" of this scandal appears two days after the meeting in Tirana, when, according to him, Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, meets in Ireland with representatives of a Chinese corporation - specifically with Patrick Ho and Jang Xemi.
"In that meeting, the information that McGonigal had provided to be forwarded to the Chinese secret services, through their infiltrated agent, Dorian Duçka, was discussed," Berisha said.
According to Berisha, documents declassified by the US court show that the Chinese corporation had direct ties to Hunter Biden, who received large payments from this company. Meanwhile, Ducka, as he said, received a “monthly salary of $50,000” from the same corporation.
Berisha added that according to the US Inspector General, the FBI had set up a network to arrest all the people involved in this affair, including Patrick Ho, Jang Xemi and Dorian Duçka.
"This is an issue that affects the national security of the United States, but that directly involves Edi Rama and the highest structures of his government. It is no longer just an American issue, but also an Albanian one," Berisha concluded.
