Prime Minister Edi Rama managed to once again occupy the front pages of the Italian media. Not for the trilateral agreement between Albania - Italy - Emirates for the underwater energy connection that will cross the Adriatic, but for his scenes. The gesture of the head of the Albanian government kneeling in front of the Italian Prime Minister has gone viral.
Meloni appreciated the gesture, but according to Italian media, he jokingly invited Rama not to overdo it with his enthusiasm, saying: "You have to stop this story." Rama continued with his own, replying: "Her Majesty...".
In his hand was a package containing his gift for the Italian Prime Minister's 48th birthday. She accepted the birthday wishes with a smile and thanks, adding: "What a character you are!"
Rama's gift to Meloni was a large silk scarf with gray and black prints depicting images from Albanian folk culture. The accessory was made by an Italian manufacturer who had relocated to Albania. A moment later, Rama took the scarf and used it to cover her hair as if it were a hijab.
Meloni laughed again. Then Edi Rama asked the journalists to sing a happy birthday song for his friend.
“Are you here to sing her happy birthday, or not?” Rama asked the journalist, but Meloni immediately stopped him, smiling: “Don't embarrass me.” Meloni passed the elegant scarf to her private secretary Patrizia Scurti.
Rama joked with reporters about his "couple intimacy" with Giorgia Meloni and the interest of his "rivals", billionaire Elon Musk and Indian President Narendra Modi.
Meloni and Musk were recently featured in a "fake" video showing them kissing. Meanwhile, the Indian press has in recent months speculated about an alleged flirtation between Meloni and Modi, even dubbing the "couple" "Melodis."
