Republican Party leader Fatmir Mediu seems to be scared of the Gerdec trial. In a television studio, he said that the new judiciary is conducting a "political hunt."
Mediu emphasized that if SPAK is thought to decide, then this would be the end of democracy. He said that in his case, SPAK is not respecting the law.
" Justice is not SPAK, what decides is the court. SPAK is an institution of the prosecution. The presumption of innocence is a fundamental right. What we do is that we place SPAK above the courts and it cannot be like this. If it is thought that SPAK decides, this is the end of democracy. The new justice is doing "political hunting". We cannot return to popular justice. In my case, SPAK has not respected the law ", Mediu expressed on "News 24".
