"The system of open lists must be established", Alibeaj: How Rama

The deputy of the Democratic Party and the co-chairman of the Electoral Reform Commission, Enkelejd Alibeaj, has stated that open lists should be established in Albania and that the whole country should be a single electoral area.

Alibeaj said that through the division into regions of the country, the majority of Prime Minister Edi Rama "stole" 6 mandates unjustly.

He said that Prime Minister Edi Rama is governing with 48% of the votes, that is, without passing half of the votes, which according to him, with a different system, he would not be prime minister.

" The system of open lists is a system that is currently the most appropriate and more in line with what the constitution provides.

This story of open lists that started in 2020, which was not achieved with the reform broken by the majority, and we hope to see it with open lists, so that people have the right to choose their representative.

Secondly, Albania is an electoral area and not parceled, because this parceling goes in favor of the majority. At least 5-6 mandates were taken parasitically, they were hijacked by the majority. Because Rama received less than 48% of the votes, i.e. less than half of the mandates and he is governing ", said Alibeaj in "Euronews Albania".
