The diplomat seems to have made it clear that regardless of the name that is at the head of the embassy, the attitude is the same: Reform is not affected!
The United States appears steadfast on judicial reform. Regardless of who is in charge of the embassy, everyone is in full tune when talking about corruption, rule of law or justice.
Charge d'affaires Nancy VanHorn has been holding meetings with government representatives for several days, getting to know them more closely. Today she met the Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja, with whom she certainly talked about the reform in justice.
Like her predecessor, but also Ambassador Yuri Kim, Nancy VanHorn says that the US will work hard for justice reform to move forward, while making it clear that the corrupt should be punished and the law should rule in the country.
" Charge Nancy VanHorn met today with the Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja. They discussed the essential role of the full implementation of the justice reform in Albania's irreversible path forward towards Euro-Atlantic aspirations. The United States remains committed to supporting Albania's efforts in the fight against corruption, to strengthen the institutions of justice and in support of the rule of law ," the embassy writes.
The message seems to go to all those who want to obstruct justice. Both the left and the right do not want this reform and everything is being done to stop it. But the diplomat seems to have made it clear that regardless of the name at the head of the embassy, the attitude is the same: The reform is not affected.
Albanian politics is using the lack of a full-time ambassador to alienate the reform. After the departure of Yuri Kim, the name of the ambassador David Kostelancik was blocked in the Senate and this caused Meta and Berisha to attack SPAK, while Rama put the votes in the Parliament into play to alienate the reform. / Pamphlet
