There have been two different cases that are being investigated in a single one by the Special Prosecutor's Office.
The criminal proceeding by SPAK was registered about two months ago, in addition to other investigations carried out by the prosecutor's office for similar proceedings, related to cyber attacks and acts with terrorist purposes. Unofficial sources confirm that the proceedings are number 13/2023, registered for the criminal offenses "Provocation of war", "illegal interception of computer data", "Interference with computer data", "Interference with computer systems" and "Misuse of equipment", these criminal offenses, which are suspected to be committed within the framework of a structured criminal group.
According to the sources, MEK members have had activities not to the detriment of Albanian citizens but for other countries. MEK members are suspected of attempting to hack into Iran's state systems. The equipment seized during Tuesday's operation will be sent to a laboratory for examination.
