Gazment Bardhi has spoken about his movements within the Democratic Party, leaving Lulzim Basha and joining Sali Berisha. Invited to the Opinion show, Gazment Bardhi has told why the rift between him and Lulzim Basha happened.
According to him, Basha's goal was not to strengthen the DP, but to divide the party.
"I have thought of another way of how the issue of DP should be resolved, I have always fought for the unification of DP. I can't count on a party divided into 7 pieces defeating Edi Rama. I understood that his goal is not to strengthen the PD, it was to keep the PD divided. This goes against the gratitude I have for the sacrifice of each party member. Tell me one thing he has done against the government of Edi Rama? It deals with attacks on the Democratic Party every day. Basha has returned to a process that I contested. I believed that the battle that we started in September 2021 was to strengthen it, and I gave up immediately, because I am not blind, when I saw that the party was dying", said Gazment Bardhi.
