PD MP Dhurata Çupi has asked the ILDPKI for an administrative investigation into the mayor of the municipality of Bulqiza, Festime Mjeshtri.
According to Çup, Mayor Mjeshtri has appointed her brother as administrator in the Ostren unit, being in a pure conflict of interest.
" Given the situation of illegality and conflict of interest in Bulqiza Municipality, today I asked the High Inspectorate for Declaration of Assets and Conflict of Interest to urgently start an administrative investigation, to ascertain the situation of conflict of interest between the acting mayor and the administrator of the Administrative Unit of Ostren, sister and brother, as well as undertake other punitive measures in accordance with the law. High public officials and especially the elected ones must exercise their duty with integrity, transparency and responsibility in the service of the public interest and not personal or family interests ", she says.
