The approval of the new formula for the distribution of mandates has opened the way for political calculations and pollsters' projections.
SP and PD negotiators agreed that in the spring elections, about 100 deputies will automatically be elected by the mayor and not by the citizens.
The biggest fight to capture a seat in the Parliament will take place on the list that will be subject to the preferential vote. Pollsters predict that with the new formula, Edi Rama would be able to bring 47 deputies to the Parliament, while around 33 others would be citizens' input.
" From a poll I conducted in June at the national level, it turns out that with these changes made to the Electoral Code, only the Socialist Party wants this real competition for the open list. So 47 deputies will be appointed by the leadership of the Party, they are determined, while 33 are selected by ordinary citizens ", said Eduard Zaloshnja for "TCH".
Referring to the figures, Eduard Zaloshnja is of the opinion that in the Democratic Party it is almost impossible to have a competition between the candidates, while the deputies who would sit in the Assembly would only be Sali Berisha's choice.
" In the Democratic Party, there will really be 47 determined by the leadership of the Party, but according to my survey, it can hardly get more than 47 mandates ", said Zaloshnja.
The projections do not look optimistic for the small parties, where no competition is expected and the deputies would only be the exclusive choice of the chairman.
