President Bajram Begaj was present at the evening organized by the IOC, on the occasion of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, where US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were also present.

Those present were greeted by Italian President Sergio Mattarella, while Milan was placed under tight security measures to welcome the important delegations.

The evening's menu was prepared by chefs Enrico and Roberto Cerea of ​​the three-star restaurant Da Vittorio in Brusaporto, in the province of Bergamo.

The welcome dinner for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games took place yesterday, February 5, at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan. Hosted by IOC President Kirsty Coventry, the dinner was attended by dozens of heads of state from around the world.

"Italy is honored to host the 25th edition of the Winter Olympic Games," said Sergio Mattarella, opening the gala dinner.

The President of the Republic said he was "pleased to be able to address those who promote the sporting dimension of international life, which embodies the values ​​of cooperation and promotes global events of encounters under the banner of justice in relations between peoples and individuals."

Present at the Fabbrica del Vapore were US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marc Rubio, Albanian President Bajram Begaj, Iliana Iotova (Bulgaria), Ban Kimoon (Korea), Alar Karis (Estonia), Mikheil Kavelashvili (Georgia), Prince Al Hussein (Jordan), Princess Anne (Great Britain), Edgars Rinkevics (Latvia), His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, Prince Albert II (Monaco), King Willem-Alexander (Netherlands), Karol Nawrocki (Poland), Emir Al Thani (Qatar), Guy Parmelin (Switzerland) and Tamas Sulyok (Hungary).

Also present were the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock, and the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Roxana Minzatu.

Among the guests, of course, were the President of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), Luciano Buonfiglio, and the President of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, Giovanni Malagò.
