The deputy of the Democratic Party, Saimir Korreshi, said that he will not be part of the Assembly organized by the re-elected leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha.
According to him, this assembly does not bring anything to the Democratic Party and moreover, it cannot bring it to power in 2025.
"What does this assembly bring us? Why should we trust a thing that does not stick, does not ignite? I participate in the Assembly of Albania where I represent those democrats who are tired of both Basha and Berisha. The elections of May 14 showed that DP needs all the democrats to win", said Korreshi for "Euronews Albania".
On September 2, the Democratic Party will convene the National Assembly. This was one of the first decisions taken by the leadership of the party immediately after the re-election of Lulzim Basha as chairman.
The meeting of the party's highest governing body is expected to be a culminating point of what the Democratic Party will be like without Sali Berisha and Rithemelimin group and with the absolute dominance of Lulzim Basha.
