The head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, has commented on the opposition's requests for motions with debate on several issues.
He said that there could not be a motion with debate on hundreds of issues. Balla said that the DP wants the government's balance sheet from 2013-2025, but we cannot go back.
"Regarding motions, the regulation is clear. Motions are part of the parliamentary instruments, starting from the simplest, which is the question-and-answer session, to go to interpellations on urgent matters and to culminate in motions with debate, up to investigative committees. Regarding your request, I am reading Article 89; a group of deputies can submit a request for a motion on a specific issue and then a statement can be made, which is then linked to the request for a motion.
"I have before me a request coming from the DP, which asks not for one specific issue, but several hundred issues; the government's balance sheet from 2013-2025. In 12 years, we have done so much work that we do not know what to say in advance. To put it bluntly, we wasted the opportunity to discuss as befits a parliament in order to return to September 18. We cannot go back, we can only move forward. We can make a motion with debate on issues related to our European path, to the EU process," he said.
