President Bajram Begaj has reacted to the passing of actor Birçe Hasko, calling him one of the most prominent figures in Albanian art.
The head of state praised Hasko's contribution to the stage and cinematography, but also his role in the formation of young actors as a teacher.
According to Begaj, Birçe Hasko left an important mark on Albanian art through her performances in theater and film, while for many years she also dedicated herself to teaching.
"The Albanian art world lost one of its most prominent figures today. In addition to leaving precious traces as a great actor of the Albanian stage and screen, Birçe Hasko also dedicated his life to education, as an honored teacher of many generations of actors. Farewell "The Great Master" Birçe Hasko!", writes Begaj.
Actor Birçe Hasko, one of the well-known figures of Albanian theater and cinema, passed away today at the age of 84. He was praised over the years for his performances in supporting roles, where he brought prominent and unique characters to the stage and screen.
One of his most famous roles remains Milo Tafani in the film "Rain on the Beach", considered one of the most accomplished performances of his artistic career. In theater, he played over 12 roles, while in cinematography he left his mark in dozens of Albanian films.
His film debut came in 1971 with the role of Sulo the ballista in "When a Day Dawned." He later became part of more than 30 cinematographic productions.
Among the most famous characters played by him are Abaz Kola in "The House with Two Doors", Shazo in "The Fisherman's Family", Osmani in "The Mountains Covered with a Cloak", Tosun Baçi in "The Man with a Cannon" and Tellalli in "The Concert in 1936".
Birçe Hasko was particularly distinguished for his interpretation of popular figures and roles with comic notes, bringing to the screen the character and dialect of southern Albania. He was born on March 15, 1942 in Dukat i Vlorës and remained one of the most recognizable faces of Albanian cinema to the public.
