Illegal constructions, Balla: We seized 9 buildings, 10.5 million euros went to

The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, held a press conference for the annual analysis of the ministry, while declaring that public safety during the past year was a certification test.

As we close a tourist season, the minister stated that they have already started preparations for the new season.

"Public security during 2023, was in the test that certified us. We count about 154 operations in the fight against the phenomenon of illegal immigration.

As soon as we close a tourist season, we start getting ready for the new season. As I promised, we will have a much more complete preparation for this tourist season, to cope with a much larger flow of tourists. And for this purpose, we prepared a new structure within the State Police, which will have to take on a new responsibility. While the territory protection inspectorate must guarantee in time, free beaches and a clean coast.

Since I am talking about IKMT, let me share a figure, regarding all the mud that was thrown on the government for constructions without permission, we have 10.5 million euros in budget revenue for the first 9 buildings. For four of them, the payment process has been liquidated, while the others are still waiting," said Balla.
