Changes to the Electoral Code, Rama calls on the diaspora: Register to vote, the

Yesterday, the Assembly approved with 108 votes the next amendments to the Electoral Code. After the amendments a year ago where it was decided that for the first time the diaspora would also vote, yesterday a second agreement was reached, the SP-PD to pass 3 amendments: that the postage be paid by the state, that the votes of emigrants be counted by political commissioners and that the election deadlines be brought forward by 10 days.

Regarding these developments yesterday, Prime Minister Edi Rama opened his "Sy m'Sy" column on the social network "Facebook", calling on emigrants to register for the May 11 elections, as the deadline is March 4.

Rama further added that the expenses for the voting post will be borne by the Albanian government, for this reason, he emphasized, the diaspora should not hesitate to participate in these elections.

"The government has now been designated as responsible for covering all postal expenses. They will simply have to mark their preference, insert the ballot paper in the return envelope and return it by mail. Please note that this is not only historic for those who are abroad. On the other hand, May 11 is crucial for Albania 2030, for the membership process ," Rama said.
