Former MP and journalist, Nikoll Lesi, has revealed to "Albania Live" that the Democratic Party's candidate for the early elections in Tirana could be Ilir Alimehmeti.
Lesi says that the battle for Tirana is like a "Waterloo" for Alimhemeti and the DP, describing it as difficult for the Democrats to win.
" The special thing about this Assembly was the new elections in Tirana and the changes to the Constitution. Rama first proposed the idea that out of 140 deputies, there should be 101. To make changes to the Constitution, 94 deputies are needed, Rama has 83, let's add 3 from the PSD, 86. It is a great challenge, but the most fervent battle is the battle for Tirana.
Rama said his name, Ogerta Manastirliu. Now it is expected who the opposition will bring out. For the DP and Berisha this is a life or death battle. Ogerta Manastirliu, as far as we all know, is a woman with personality, who has a lot of charisma, who goes to people, an old "tyrant". Let's see.
The battle is between the DP and the SP in Tirana, a final battle for Berisha. The chances for me, although they haven't come out yet, if they find a candidate who is a servant of Berisha, are absolutely that Ogerta Manastirliu wins today.
'Waterloo' is in Tirana. Up until now, Ogerta is 10 steps ahead. If the DP chooses a militant, it has lost today. If it chooses a unifying figure, another "Tirons", then we will see.
