Sali Berisha has reconfirmed Gazment Bardhi and Agron Gjekmarkaj in their positions in the Albanian Parliament.
Bardhi will continue to hold the position of Head of the DP Parliamentary Group, while Gjekmarkaj will continue as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
At the meeting of the Democratic Parliamentary Group, the first since the May 11 elections, Berisha seems to have entrusted Bardhi with the leadership of the group, even though there have been doubts or rumors within the ranks of the DP about a change.
But it seems that the democratic leader has continued with the thesis of unity in diversity, which was used to bring together those who had once appeared as Berisha's fiercest and strongest opponents, in the confrontation with Lulzim Basha.
The only one who voted against Berisha's proposals was the MP for the Vlora District, Bujar Leskaj. The latter did not support the proposal for Gazment Bardhi to continue leading the parliamentary group, while earlier he had called for a refresh of the leadership structures.
"I am convinced that this group, with the support that Bardhi will provide, will recognize a new performance in the times to come. For vice-chairs of the group, Këlliçi and Alizoti. Vice-chair of the Assembly, Agron Gjekmarkaj", said Berisha.
There has also been a change in the Presidency of the Parliamentary Group, where Belind Këlliçi and Tomor Alizoti have been appointed and subsequently approved as vice-chairs. Ledina Alolli and Elda Hoti will also be part of the Presidency of the Group. The former will be the Spokesperson of the Parliamentary Group, while the latter will be the Secretary of the Parliamentary Group.
It seems that Berisha has chosen not to open debates in the DP on the distribution of positions, maintaining the status quo, even though for weeks after the May 11 defeat, there was talk of changes, restructuring, and reforms. /Pamphlet/
